Groundhog Day!

The kids and I have been busy all week, prepairing for Punxsutawney Phils prediction.

Our montra... Shadow = Stew, 

GROUNDHOG STEW!!!

The table was set with care...

The vegetables were gathered, ready for chopping....

 The boy was armed with his Red Ryder BB gun just waiting in anticipation for 'ol Phil to see that shadow!!

  

So what did dear Phil proclaim on this CCCold February morn in 2013??

An early spring for you and me!

Lock up the gun, pack up the china...there will be no fresh groundhog stew dinner tonight!

I didn't think it would happen, but it DID!!

Just enough snow to cover the grass!

I am so, so very thankful..............

I've gotten so far behind posting all my Christmas families.
I just love knowing the photographs taken this time of year will be mailed off
to all their friends and family...a privilege indeed!! 

The Christmas season is off to a beautiful start!!

When do you put up your Christmas tree?
My family comes the weekend after Thanksgiving for our annual tree cutting ceremony
This year The Mighty O'Brien Boy took the honers!

 This was a special tree as it will be the last tree harvested from our farm.
I planted a bunch of little 10" tall seedlings the first spring we moved here just
for this purpose, I only wish I would have continued to plant every spring.
It has been a wonderful family tradition.

 After dinner and a little surprise decorating...I caught these
precious moments in my daughters room....

Oh I have so much to be thankful for!!
