The Magical Pumpkin Patch

Happy Halloween!

Hope YOUR Halloween is just as magical as this pumpkin patch!!

Five little pumpkins
Sitting on a gate
The first one said,
“Oh, my, it’s getting late!”
The second one said,
“There are witches in the air!”
The third one said,
“But we don’t care!”
The fourth one said,
“Let’s run and run and run!”
The fifth one said,
“I’m ready for some fun!”
OOOOOOOH, went the wind
And OUT went the light (clap on “out”)
And the five little pumpkins
Rolled out of sight.

OK...so maybe the little song doesn't fit but it sure does bring back memories....

Remember Warm and Toasty?

Today is cold and windy and damp and grey!
I miss playing in the warm summer sun already!

I'm a Sentimental Girl...

My mom claims she is not sentimental but look what she had squirreled away for
allllllll these years...

When I was 14, I saved and bought my first SLR camera for 4H and this
was the first photograph I

entered at the county fair.
I was thrilled beyond words when I was awarded 2nd place!

I was hooked!

There was nothing like the excitement of watching your images come to life
in that pan of developer....nothing!!!
I think I spent all my high school years locked away in that little closet, under red lights frantically
processing prints in a panic to meet yearbook deadlines.
Long gone are those days but the excitement is just the same.
I still can't wait to see what magic I can create!!

Here is another photo from the Ohio wedding.

The bride is very sentimental about butterflies so I asked her
to hold her finger like she was "catching a little bird" then
surprised her with this image...I hope she likes it!!

Thank you, mom for saving so many of
my childhood memories!!!  xoxo

Giggly Girls

A few weeks ago I photographed these
two silly sisters!

They made me laugh the entire
shoot and all the way through editing.

Once they started the silly faces it was out of control giggles!!!!

I also learned a valuable lesson, Barbasol shaving cream is not a substitute for whipped cream in a photo shoot! No, no it isn't.

That stuff is THICK!

Then my "crew" jumped in to help...

And you know where that got me?
Right back to here.
 Yep!
GIGGLES!!!!!

Their poor mom had just about given up as the sun was slipping away.
But eventually I was able to catch a few of these...

Many thanks to this wonderful family
for such a fun end to the day!!!

Beautiful October Wedding

Recently I traveled to a rural area of Ohio to photograph a
perfect rustic wedding.

Travis and Karen were married under an old covered bridge on his property, adjacent to his parents 100 acre farm.

Seasonal farming keeps this family close.
Each Sunday the 5 sons and their families come together on the farm for a
home cooked meal their mother and grandmother lovingly prepare.

A real Sunday dinner!! Does that not just make your heart sing!!

The couple passed over many cliche wedding traditions such as
cake and opted for pie,
which family members made.....all the sweeter!

Both moms were so warm and welcoming....maybe even sweeter than the pies!!

Karen and Travis are an amazing couple. This past year has been difficult
but with their strength as a couple, they have endured.
May their new life together be fulled with Love and Laughter!!

Many thanks to both of you and your families for allowing me to share in the joy of this very special day!

....and they live happily ever after!!

Fairy Club

My sweet little girl believes very strongly that "fairies really do exist"...or maybe she just pretends she does, well except for the Tooth Fairy, everyone KNOWS she's real!!!
Well except for my son, when he was 7 he proclaimed that he knew the Tooth Fairy was not real because
"it's not like she's famous like Santa Clause!!!"

Anyways....she and 3 other and equally adorable little girls at school started their own "Fairy Club".
They have all sorts of adventures at recess.  It really is the very sweetest thing EVER!!!
Last Sunday she and I got a silly idea and together created this...

She is so proud to display this photo in her locker as proof that fairies really do exist!!

Too much fun!!!
